The course co-coordinators' interest was sparked by Surmount's monthly newsletter, 'Enspire'. He felt that a visit to the company's Green office would be a great way to better engage the students of interior design in firsthand knowledge of Green designing and the outcomes that it delivers.

The lighting system primarily consists of ceramic metal halide fixtures and is sensor based, making the entire lighting set up energy efficient. The office is also water efficient, consuming 30% less water compared to industry standards.
